Recover a Mixcloud account that was created with Facebook

Some users set up their Mixcloud accounts using Facebook, and can log in to the platform using their Facebook credentials instead of an email address and password. 

While this option is still available when you visit Mixcloud on a computer, it's not possible to log in using Facebook when using Mixcloud on a mobile device. 

If you need to set up a password so you can log in on mobile, or if you no longer have access to your Facebook account, please read on or jump ahead in this article: 

• Setting up your email address and password
• If you've deleted your Facebook account
• If you're not receiving a password reset link

Setting up your email address and password

You can set up an email address and password to use with your Mixcloud account. Once you've set this up, you'll be able to log in from any device using these credentials instead of Facebook login. 

⚠️ Please note that you will need access to a computer to complete these steps the first time. 

If you're unable to access Mixcloud on a computer and need to update your login preferences, please contact our Support team. 

1. Use the Login with Facebook option to sign into your Mixcloud account on a computer.
   
   
2. Go to your Account settings at https://www.mixcloud.com/settings/account/.
   
   
3. Scroll down to Account Settings > Email towards the bottom of the page.
   
   
4. Type in the email address you'd like to use with your Mixcloud account.
   • Please note that this is the email address that notifications, system messages, and other information will be sent to, so ensure this is an account with an inbox that you can access.
     
     
5. Click the Save account settings button at the bottom of the page. 
6. Log out of your Mixcloud account.
   • Click your profile picture in the top-right of the browser window.
   • When the menu opens, click Log out
     
     
7. Head to the login page and request a password reset email using the link below the login form (illustrated in the image below):
   
   
   
   • The email should reach your account within a few minutes.
     Please check your spam and trash folders if the email doesn't reach your inbox.
     
     
8. Follow the directions in the email to set up your password, which you can then use alongside your username or email address to log in to Mixcloud in the browser and app. 

If you've deleted your Facebook account

If you previously used Facebook to login and you've now deleted your Facebook account, you may be able to recover the account yourself by following these steps.

⚠️ Please note that you will need access to a computer and the email address associated with your Facebook account to complete these steps. Once your password has been set up, you'll be able to log into Mixcloud on any device. 
If you don't have access to a computer and/or the email account associated with Facebook, please contact our Support team. 

1. Head to the Mixcloud login page on a computer. 
   
   
2. Enter your Mixcloud username. 
   • You can find your username in your account URL: https://www.mixcloud.com/[USERNAME]/
   • If you're not sure what your username or URL is, please enter the email address associated with your Facebook account. 
     
     
3. Enter any password (you will not need to remember or reuse this later) and click Log in.
   
4. You will be shown the following message:
   
5. Click the Forgot your password: Reset it here. link under the login form to receive a password reset email (illustrated in the image below):
   
6. Check your email account for the password reset link. The email should reach your account within a few minutes.
   • Please check your spam and trash folders if the email doesn't reach your inbox.
   • If you entered a username when you attempted to log in, please note that the email address that the password reset is sent to may be the one you used to create your Facebook account.
      
7. Follow the instructions in the password reset email to create your password, and use your username and email address with this password to log in to Mixcloud on any platform. 

If you're not receiving a password reset link

If you've followed the steps above and you're not receiving a password reset link, this could be due to reasons including:

• Your Facebook account being linked to a different email address.
• Your email provider's settings preventing our messages from being delivered to you. 
• Your Mixcloud account being set up using an email address and password.
