Why am I being shown a CAPTCHA?
We have several features on the site to help protect the platform and users from suspicious activity and bad actors.
This means you may occasionally be shown a CAPTCHA. This is a simple test ('challenge') that helps to confirm that you're a legitimate human user.
You may be more likely to need to complete a CAPTCHA if you're using a device or IP address that we don't recognize.
Sometimes, we may have previously detected suspicious activity from the server you're using. This may happen more often if you're connecting from a public or shared network (eg. in a cafe), or if you're using a VPN.
There's an issue with the CAPTCHA
While CAPTCHAs are generally quick and easy to complete, there can be some issues with the CAPTCHA challenge itself (eg. missing or confusing information or loading issues) or issues submitting the CAPTCHA. We recommend the following steps to help troubleshoot most CAPTCHA issues:
- Try to force-close the app or refresh your browser window.
- This should reload the CAPTCHA or allow you to proceed if the CAPTCHA was validated correctly.
- You may be able to complete the CAPTCHA on a different device/browser to confirm you're human.
- If you're using the mobile app, try to access Mixcloud in your browser app (eg. Chrome or Safari). You should be able to complete the CAPTCHA here (make sure you're logged into the same account you want to use in the app), then restart or delete and reinstall the app and attempt to log in.
- If you're using a computer, try a different browser, or use an incognito/private browser window to complete the CAPTCHA, then restart your primary browser and attempt to log in again.
- Check your network settings.
- If you're repeatedly shown a CAPTCHA, or if you can't complete the CAPTCHA successfully, please test a different network.
- If you're using a VPN, try to switch over to a different server or try temporarily disabling your VPN.
- Try closing out any background apps or settings that may interfere with your internet connection.
