Charts are a great way to see the top trending shows within a music genre or location. There are over 1000 genres we recognise in our database. 495 of these genre tags have weekly charts that creators' shows can rank in, while the other genres have Discover pages displaying the most popular shows of all time.

Factors that influence your show's position in the Charts
1️⃣ There are 391 charts on Mixcloud, which means anytime you tag your shows or live streams with a chart-specific genre, you have the chance to rank within that chart.
💡Tip: We recommend a combination of broader genres such as ‘techno’ or ‘bass & club music’ as well as more specific tags like ‘future bass’ or ‘acid techno’ as this not only shows your listeners exactly what to expect but gives your show a better chance of ranking in the 391 charts we have on Mixcloud.
2️⃣ Chart rankings fluctuate based on engagement i.e. how many favourites, shares, and listens your shows generate. We also monitor external sources such as social media sites to help determine where you rank.
💡Tip: Make sure you promote your shows beyond Mixcloud and tag any featured artists or guests (so they can re-share) as this will boost you up in the charts.
3️⃣ Engagement (i.e. favourite, shares, listens) is only impactful within the first week of a newly uploaded show. So, you will need to keep the momentum up to stay in the chart - after 7 days your show will no longer be able to rank.
💡Tip: Schedule social media posts in the days following the upload of your show to keep the heat on and attract more listeners.
4️⃣ Longer listens and external shares influence chart positions more than any other aspect. This is because we care strongly about authentic engagement vs. shallow plays (i.e. fans genuinely wanting to listen to your shows all the way through).

Why did the rank of my show drop?
Finally, you might be wondering what makes your chart position drop. This is because there's a difference between global and local Charts. After 7 days, your show will only display its highest rank on the global chart.
