Creator Subscriptions allow creators to upload shows and set them as Exclusives for their subscribers. An Exclusive show will be visible to everyone, but only paying Creator subscribers will be able to listen.
Exclusives are a powerful tool to reward your fans and encourage more fans to subscribe to get full access to your shows. Creators who upload exclusives are twice as likely to get subscribers as those who don’t.
Adding Exclusive content to your profile
Uploading Exclusives
We've made it easy to upload Exclusive content.
Once you've enabled Creator Subscriptions, look for this box when you upload new content:
Tick this box during the upload process to make your show Exclusive to subscribers only, or leave the box unticked if you'd like your content to be available to all listeners.
Editing the Exclusive status of published shows or tracks
If you've uploaded Exclusive content that you wish to make available for all your fans, or if you've published content that you wish to make subscriber-only, you can edit your upload to change the status.
Simply navigate to the upload you'd like to change the Exclusive status for on your profile or your dashboard, click 'Edit', and then tick or untick the box in the blue "Exclusive" banner.
Frequently asked questions:
Will my Exclusive show be included in the Charts?
Exclusives won’t be able to enter the charts until they are made public to everyone. Don’t worry, when you make a show public, it will appear as a new show and behave exactly the same as a regular public show.
Who can see my Exclusive uploads?
Exclusives will be visible on your profile and in your followers' feeds, but only your subscribers will be able to listen. This helps to promote your Creator Subscriptions.
If you'd like to upload unlisted content, consider making your upload private.
Will my followers receive a notification when I upload an Exclusive?
All your followers will be able to receive notifications about Exclusive content you upload. You may also want to consider using Posts and sharing to your social media to promote your upload further.
Top tips for using Exclusives
As a creator, you understand your fans best. You know what kind of exclusive content would best incentivise your fans to support and subscribe. Here are some approaches that we have seen other creators have great success with:
- Teaser windows: keep your new shows exclusive for a limited amount (“window”) of time, and then make the show public for all your followers.
- Bonus content: upload extra or rare content like extended interviews, extra commentary, rare live sets or special guest mixes.
- Extended B-side: Create extended versions of your shows - make the first part free, and the second part exclusive.
- Create an archive: put older, rare shows that are not available elsewhere behind a paywall.
