We have recently had a number of users encountering a problem where the Mixcloud app stops playing when the phone is put to sleep.
This has been identified as a change in the Battery Optimisation settings for Android devices and so we would advise following the steps below to modify your settings and make sure you listening doesn't stop. Please note that, due to the variety of Android devices, these steps may differ from the steps you'll need to take on your device.
If you've upgraded to Android Pie:
- Go to your phone Settings
- Go to Apps
- Find the Mixcloud app
- On the app settings click Advanced
- Click Battery
- Click Battery optimization
- Choose Not optimized for Mixcloud
If you're on Android Oreo:
- Go to your phone Settings
- Go to Apps
- Find the Mixcloud app
- On the app click Advanced
- Click Battery
- Make sure Background limitations is not enabled
You may also find that this option appears by searching for Sleeping apps in the App drawer. If Mixcloud appears on the list of sleeping apps then simply remove it to solve this problem.
