We have recently had a number of users encountering a problem where the Mixcloud app stops playing when their phone is put to sleep or left idle. This can be due to the Battery Optimisation or Power Saving settings for Android devices and so we would advise following the steps below to modify your settings and make sure your listening does not stop.
Please note that, due to the variety of Android devices, these steps may differ from the steps you will need to take on your device.

The specific method to disable Battery Optimisations may vary depending on your device, Android version and Manufacturer, but for many devices the battery settings can be found and changed using the following steps:
- Go to your phone Settings
- Go to Apps
- Find the Mixcloud app
- Click Battery (this may be under Advanced settings)
- Ensure Mixcloud is set to Unrestricted and does not have Optimized or Restricted selected
- Ensure Allow Background Activity is enabled
- Ensure Background limitations is not enabled
You can also find settings for Sleeping apps in your device Settings by following the steps below:
- Go to your phone Settings
- Go to Battery and device care
- Click Battery
- Select Background usage limits
- If the option to Put unused apps to sleep is on, turn it off
