We're committed to ensuring Mixcloud is a fair platform, and we don't offer or associate with services that allow users to buy listens, favorites, or follows for money.
Use of these services and other activities to inflate engagement with profiles or content on the platform falsely is strictly against our Terms of Use.
Identifying and reporting fake plays and engagement
If you've noticed that your show or profile has had a sudden and unexpected increase in activity, this may indicate engagement from fake profiles.
If an upload is found to have fake plays or engagement
We regularly screen content to identify signs of artificial engagement (eg. fake plays, favorites, reposts, etc.). If our team identifies signs that engagement has been inflated on a show or track, the upload will be removed from the platform.
Additionally, the uploading account will receive a strike in line with our Three Strike system. The uploader will be contacted via the email address associated with their Mixcloud profile to inform them that the content has been removed and that a strike has been issued. If a third strike is issued, we reserve the right to remove a profile and all associated uploads will be automatically deleted.
If you suspect that any activity related to your uploads or profile may have come from fake profiles or may otherwise have been manipulated, please contact our Support Team as soon as possible.
It's important that you raise these concerns with us to avoid receiving a strike against your account.
My upload has been removed due to fake plays or engagement
In line with our policies, we will not reinstate content if it was removed due to evidence of fake plays or artificial engagement.
You may wish to re-upload the content to your profile to make it available for listeners again.
Please note that a strike will be issued and will be upheld if you did not previously contact us about the specific upload to report your concerns about artificial engagement.
Reporting fake profiles
If you believe a profile to be fake, and that it was created with the intention of artificially inflating engagement on the platform, please use the 'Mark as Spam' tool on the profile to report this to our team. This flags the profile to our team and also helps to train our spam filters so we can improve the automatic removal of these profiles.
