What is a restricted show?
There are a few important rules that apply to the content you upload so it can be hosted on the platform, and so Mixcloud can remain a fair and legal platform.
These rules include limits to the number of songs per artist, and the number of songs per album or compilation, that can be included in one show. You can read more about these rules here.
If your show contains content above our limits, it will be restricted and you will be blocked from publishing it, or it will not be available to listeners.
However, we may be able to remove the restriction and make your show available if you can submit a valid Featured Artist Rules waiver.
Who can submit a Featured Artist Rules waiver?
Only the legal owner of the sound recording rights to the tracks can submit a waiver. This is normally the artist or the record label.
If you are not the current legal owner of the sound recording rights to all of the tracks causing the show to be restricted, we won't be able to apply the waiver you send in.
What happens once I submit the Featured Artist Rules waiver?
Once you submit the Featured Artist Rules waiver, our Support team will review the show and your waiver. You will receive an email reply confirming if the waiver has been accepted or rejected, or to ask for more details.
If your waiver covers all of the tracks related to your show's restriction, we will apply the waiver to your show and store a copy for our records. Once the waiver has been applied, your show will be made available for all listeners on Mixcloud.
