Due to Apple's policies, fans in some territories will not be able to send Tips directly from the iPhone and iPad version of the Mixcloud app, starting from 3rd March 2025.
Apple's guidelines for in-app purchases impact how subscriptions and other payments (including Tips) can be promoted and processed within the app. As these guidelines mean that we cannot enable transactions on content pages within the iOS app globally, the Tip button will no longer be available on live streams in the app for some iPhone and iPad users.
We want to continue to deliver a high-quality app experience for all mobile device users, and this change is necessary for us to keep Mixcloud available in the App Store for iPhones and iPads in territories across the globe.
iOS device users can continue to support you by sending Tips via your profile page within the app, and by using Safari (or other browsers) on their iPhone or iPad to view your profile or live stream.
These changes do not impact users who visit the Mixcloud website on their computer or mobile device browser.

Who does this change impact?
This change impacts some users of the Mixcloud app on iPhone and iPad (iOS) devices and is location-dependent.
iOS users in select territories will be able to send Tips via the Mixcloud app.
iOS users who visit Mixcloud in Safari (or other browser apps) will not be affected by these changes, and can continue to send Tips in your live stream or via your profile page.
Fans accessing your live stream on a computer, and Android and iOS users who are viewing your stream in their mobile browser will be able to tip you directly from your stream page (www.mixcloud.com/live/username/) as well as from your profile (www.mixcloud.com/username/).

Sending Tips via a live stream page
We recommend that your fans on iOS devices visit your profile page or enjoy your live stream in Safari (or the browser app of their choosing) to send you Tips while they watch.
iOS app users can find your stream in their mobile browser to send you Tips by following these steps:
- Open the Mixcloud app to your live stream.
- Tap the 'Share' button under your live stream video.
- Tap 'Copy'.
- Open the mobile browser app.
- Tap the address bar and tap 'Paste' to enter your stream URL.
- Tap the Tip icon in the 'Send a message' box at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the Tip amount or select one of the quick options.
- Optional - add a message to the creator.
- Tap 'Continue to payment' to proceed to the checkout page and to complete the Tip payment.
Sending Tips via a creator's profile (select territories only)
Fans using the Mixcloud app in select territories can tip you via your profile or live stream page.
iOS app users can follow these instructions:
- Navigate to your profile.
- Tap the 'Send Tip' button.
- Fans can select the Tip amount or enter a custom amount to send to you.
- Tap 'Continue to payment' to proceed to the checkout page and to complete your Tip payment.
Will there be any other changes to the way I receive Tip payouts?
There are no changes to the way Tips are processed.
You will continue to receive the same percentage of revenue from Tips and the payout schedule will remain unchanged. You can find more information in this article.
